Abseiling like it's 1900

I love that Tintin knows how to abseil without a harness. The first time I saw this panel I actually squealed - I am just that susceptible to demonstrations of physical skill*. There's more to it than that though. I think partly the enduring appeal of Tintin for me lies in the fact that he always knows what to do. There's not a lot of angst or self-doubt there. It's very attractive.

But it does make me wonder, how come every single prompt I want to fill on the kink meme has to do with breaking him down and MAKING him feel angst or self-doubt?



*Tintin's marksmanship and his right hook always really impressed me too.
