Date: 2012-06-13 10:53 pm (UTC)'Trust issues' is also one of my favourite themes, definitely looking forward to your fill on this one!
(there are also some less funny choices - for example 'difficult pregnancy'. Mpreg is absolutely not my thing, but the square doesn't fit into any interesting bingo-formation anyway :D)
P.S.: I already need the comfort part after seeing your mood theme picture .__."

Date: 2012-06-14 12:25 am (UTC)Trust Issues is one of my favourite themes too, so I'll find a way to include it. Right now, I'm working on Possession/Mind Control... my plot is that Tintin and Chang are captured by baddies (it doesn't matter how or why) and Chang is telling Tintin that he should go into Haddock's dream and tell Haddock to come rescue them, just like how he went into Tintin's dream that time his plane crashed in Tibet. The idea is interesting, but my writing sucks, so I'm not getting very far with it.

I'm not sure of the serious drama version, though. It could be really heartbreaking seeing Haddock married. Somehow I can't imagine Tintin walking down the aisle at all.
So far the idea sounds amazing! Are there any particular problems? Or just a general discontent (which can be used a powering deceive as well)? Will Tintin see a bit of Haddock's dream first, before messing up with his mind? ;)

Date: 2012-06-15 06:56 pm (UTC)From the boy reporter who never reports anything! I have the impression that Tintin is more famous for being famous than he is for any sort of actual journalism.
Bertie Wooster is exactly who I thought of for the Forced Marriage square. Castafiore seems like the sort of woman Wodehouse would get Bertie engaged to. Tintin would have to be Jeeves and help the Captain get out of it.
No particular problem with the story, just my general perfectionism means I'm never happy with anything I write. The reason I signed up for h/c bingo is so that I'll be forced to get over it and post stuff instead of endlessly obsessing over how to make it better. If it sucks, I can always blame it on the prompt.
And yes, Tintin does get to see the inside of the Captain's dream...he's pretty scandalized by it.

Date: 2012-06-18 11:46 pm (UTC)Well, it wouldn't make much sense to show us lots of panels of Tintin sitting in front of the typewriter and actually working. He must have started with it at some point in this life... but then the adventuring was more fun, I guess :D
But I agree, he is already kind of celebrity. And living with a very rich old sailor and a world-wide known scientist certainly doesn't help it.
I wonder, what will he do after quitting the reporting thing completely. Becoming a full-time writer? Somehow I doubt it. Teaching climbing, shooting, and Co.? Um, doesn't sound that right either. He sure has a lot of skills but I hardly ever recall him being passionate about any of it. It's just means to an end.
On the other hand, it's not like he need the money just a bit of preoccupation.
Castafiore seems like the sort of woman Wodehouse would get Bertie engaged to.
Aunt Agatha wouldn't approve to have a singer in her family.
But the Jeevesian role suits Tintin superb. He definitely is manipulative enough.

Reminds me of an artist, who painted on one of his major works for 20 years (and created about 300 sketches along the way, some of which are master pieces of art on their own) and even the two minutes before the painting should be presented to a museum, he still tried to improve the damn thing.
(but, yeah, that feeling is quite familiar. Maybe it's normal?)
And yes, Tintin does get to see the inside of the Captain's dream...he's pretty scandalized by it.
And the Capitan must be very pleased that now he is dreaming of two Tintins instead of one. Or will the 'real' Tintin merge into the 'dream' Tintin?
(If I wasn't already all into the whole concept of the story, at least now I would crave for it. Do you need some more encouragement? ;D)

Date: 2012-06-21 05:34 pm (UTC)Have a major mental breakdown? You'd never guess how much I love him based on the sort of things I put him through in my imagination.
And the Captain must be very pleased that now he is dreaming of two Tintins instead of one. Or will the 'real' Tintin merge into the 'dream' Tintin?
There's only one Tintin - he walks into the Captain's nightmare of being left alone forever. Captain Haddock thinks Tintin is a ghost and Tintin is trying to persuade him that it's just a dream, but also real. Captain Haddock is all like "This isn't a dream because in my dreams, you're always naked." And Tintin is throughly shocked, but willing to do whatever he has to do to make the Captain listen to what he has to say.
