Tintin Headcanon #2

From way back when I first read Tintin, I always assumed that the reason we don't know how old Tintin is or who his parents are is because Tintin himself doesn't know. I had this whole scenario worked out in my head where Tintin woke up one day on the beach in Oostende with Milou licking his face and he doesn't remember anything from before then. Then eventually he becomes a reporter, not because he likes to report things, but because he likes questions that he can actually get the answers to.

Anyway, I mention this because I found an awesome story, Boxcar Confessions by stariceling, and it gives Tintin almost the same backstory! I love outside validation of my own headcanon.

That's an interesting theory. I can see how it fits, even more so after reading the fic you mentioned (which was very good, btw). Personally, I always thought that his past is never mentioned simply because it isn't relevant to any of his adventures, or he just doesn't think about it very often... But a writer could have plenty of fun with your amnesia idea. It opens up all kinds of possibilities to his past :D
